Discomfort level

Discomfort level indicates how far super goal is from desired satisfaction level.

The more discomfort level is - the more actively intelligent system tries to satisfy super goal.

Change in satisfaction level affects discomfort level.

If satisfaction level is close to desired satisfaction level then discomfort level is small.

If satisfaction level is far from desired satisfaction level then discomfort level is big.

Discomfort level = (current satisfaction leveldesired satisfaction level)^2

Changes in discomfort level affect reward: the less discomfort level is - the more reward is.

There are two causes of changes in discomfort level:

1) Goal’s event impact

2) Fading

Example:

Let assume that:

current satisfaction level = 10

desired satisfaction level = 15

Then

Discomfort level = (10-15)^2 = (-5)*(-5) = 25
